Emma graduated with first class honours from Sydney University in International Studies and Law and has extensive experience in development and social justice. She spent two years at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), most recently in the Development Innovation Hub. She also worked in climate/development finance, results-based management, monitoring and evaluation and humanitarian programming for the African continent. She has previously worked with Herbert Smith Freehills and acquired several years of consultancy experience working with the not-for-profit organisation, 180 Degrees Consulting, most recently as their International Consulting Director for the Australasia region. Emma loves food and travel – climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is next on her list.
Alexie is a keen bean for all things energy, having graduated with first class honours from a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Arts, and worked for one of Australia’s most progressive renewable energy retailers before joining Pollinate. She spent much of her uni years teaching ballet, travelling and volunteering in Latin America, and coordinating projects with ALIV, an Australian based organisation working with asylum seekers, which somehow resulted in teaching Hip Hop on Christmas Island! Alexie has also spent time directing the Engineers Without Borders’ Energy Hub in Sydney, and can often be found cycling and taking in the sights of her new hometown, Melbourne.
Julie comes to Pollinate Energy with a passion for process reform and compliance. Working for a USAID contractor for the past four years, she helped form a new division focused on compliance management and strategy for all government contracts. She graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelors in International Business (Honors) where she worked with the local Engineers Without Borders chapter. She first came to India to work with microfinance institutions.
A social impact enthusiast, Arjun graduated from the RV College of Engineering, Bangalore in 2012, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to joining Pollinate, Arjun worked as a business consultant at Schneider Electric for almost three years, where he cultivated a passion to serve the underprivileged. While he isn’t beating himself up over Manchester United’s current form, Arjun enjoys reading philosophy and listening to Led Zeppelin.
Amar graduated from the University of Pune with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and a diploma in Spanish. Before starting his career at Pollinate Energy Amar volunteered and worked as an intern for a charity, a think tank and a wind energy company. Amar is a martial art rookie and an avid football fan. He is always up for a discussion on history and dreams of starring in his versions of ‘Enter the Dragon’ and ‘The Motorcycle Diaries’ someday.
A travel enthusiast with a passion to give back to the society, ‘Ronniiee’ as he loves to be called brings strong expertise in water treatment and has worked in the industry for the past 10 years. Prior to joining Pollinate Energy, he has worked closely with the Government to help setup water treatment plants for most of the rural areas across South India. Ronniiee has also extensive experience working with cross cultural teams in the US, Africa and some parts of Middle East. He has mentored and taught young minds at different colleges in India and abroad. He enjoys teaching, reading and listening to classical music. He currently lives in Bangalore with his family.
Marc graduated from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF Barcelona) in Business and Market Research in 2009. For more than five years his professional career has been focused in the pharmaceutical industry working internationally in Germany, Spain and Singapore. He decided to join Pollinate Energy as City Co-funder to make a change in his professional career to social business. Marc loves Photography and all his work can be seen at www.marcbrugueras.com.
A change agent, passionate to improve the lives of people by ‘Pollinating’ the idea of using Clean Source of Energy. Mohan completed his Masters in Business Administration from Pune university. He has experience of working with various for-profit, not-for-profit organisations.
Raghavendra completed a Masters of Business Admnistration from Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences – Allahabad, India, and holds a Masters of Arts in Sociology from Hampi University. Before he joined Pollinate, Raghu worked as the Senior Marketing Executive at Kotak Urja Private Limited-Bangalore, one of the leading companies in India dedicated to promoting eco-friendly and environmentally safe renewable energy technologies.
Jabir holds a Bachelors in Commerce from Mahaveer Jain College Bangalore (2005). He has worked with one of the best telecom companies in India, Airtel, as an Operations Manager, followed by a position as Unit Manager with Mphasis, Bangalore, for 6 years as Unit Manager. Jabir is has always had an interest in sustainable products and enjoys solving creative problems.
Tom’s studied civil engineering at the University of Queensland and graduated with honours. He has experience in carbon markets and auditing, energy efficiency implementation and clean energy technologies through work with Carbon Lab and his masters in energy systems. He has worked for two tier one construction companies (Thiessand Lend Lease) managing multi-million dollar portfolios, and as a cost engineer for MIEngineers estimating and planning multi-billion dollar infrastructure projects across Australia and the UK. He was the energy hub co-ordinator ofEngineers Without Borders, the president of St Johns College, filmed a documentary on sustainable tourism, and played volleyball for Australia.
David is a Cultural Anthropologist from The Netherlands with experience as a capacity trainer in Moldova, a social researcher in Bolivia and a human rights advocate in Mexico. Back in The Netherlands he worked as a travel consultant for young backpackers and international volunteers. He is passionate about creating sustainable solutions that empower the most vulnerable people to improve their own living conditions and feels like Pollinate Energy is the perfect place to do so.
Anilkumar graduated from Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Nuzvid with a Bachelors Degree in Civil engineering and worked at Ramky Infrastructure Ltd as an Engineer and as a trainee at Kirby Building Systems India Ltd before joining Pollinate Energy. Passionate about startups and entrepreneurship in the Technology and Education sectors, he collaborated and initiated Entrepreneur Development Cell at IIIT Nuzvid. When he is not busy at work Anil loves to travel, read, cook and aspires to code a startup soon.
Syed is an MBA in Marketing & Human Resource – a dynamic professional with 14+ yrs of rich diversified experience in Sales & Marketing, with a positive approach towards life. He has expertise in Business Development, Client Relationships, Team Management, and Product Launches, with experience in the fields of Real estate, financial sectors & IT Education. A keen planner, strategist & implementer with demonstrated abilities in devising sales & marketing activities and accelerating the business growth, Syed is an effective communicator with excellent relationship building skills. His passion to work in micro finance segment business operations and socially responsible organisations brought him to Pollinate Energy. He loves to travel and enjoys listening to music.
Jane is studying a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Science majoring in Maths & Experimental Physics at Monash University. Having previously worked in wine engineering, bioengineering, and management roles in Melbourne bars, hotels and wedding venues, Jane has also worked heavily in youth leadership and training throughout university. Jane came to Kolkata to participate as an International Fellow in the December 2015 program, and has again returned to Kolkata to continue working for Pollinate in the Program Leader role.
Matteo is a two meter tall Italian engineer passionate about renewable energies and new technologies. His professional experience started with IT, then he did a master degree in management at IE Business School in Madrid and he felt in love with Spain so he decided to stay a year as a project manager for a multinational company. As time passed by, he realized how keen he was to be part of a business that has a social impact. He decided to quit his job and start with a new life and a new project: Pollinate Energy. One movie he loves is Nuovo Cinema Paradiso and the song he’ll always sing is Manuel from El Puchero del Hortelano.
Debjyoti is an MBA in Marketing & Human Resources, with more than 5 years of qualitative experience in Regional / Area Sales, Client Acquisition and Team handling and IT sales. He is well versed in developing markets & generating business through formulation of strategic plans. Prior to joining Pollinate energy, Debjyoti worked with HDFC Bank as a manager and Pine Labs Pvt Ltd as an Area Sales Manager. Debjyoti believes he has a responsibility towards the betterment of the society and environment. A die hard cricket game lover and a player himself, Debjyoti loves to be a part of Pollinate Energy.
Tabrez is an MBA in Marketing & Human Resources, with an undergraduate education in Accounts Honours. He is learning a lot at Pollinate Energy and is proud to be a part of the organisation.
Saurav grew up in different parts of India and is passionate about education and social change. He started teaching kids and working with different NGOs just after finishing school and believed diving into real world and involving yourself in the adverse condition is the best way to experience reality. He describes himself as a volunteer in this world and tries to understand how the world works. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Science, majoring in psychology, and always finds time to pick up the guitar and hit some strings. He has his own startup of walking tours in Kolkata and loves showing people around the city. He is a young curious guy who likes to play sports, travel and watch TEDx talks.
Manita’s passion for sustainable energy, social justice, and engineering have collided at Pollinate Energy. She believes that they are some of the fundamental tools to alleviate poverty and conserve the environment in our world. In 2015 she was appointed as the Australian National Manager, focusing on growing revenue and building Pollinate into a sustainable social business. Manita joined Pollinate following a decade working as an engineer on water and renewable energy projects. She has also brought a wealth of experience in building the financial viability for not-for-profit organisations. Manita has held various senior roles at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation, Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Pacific Hydro, Tenix Alliance, Fulton Hogan and Veolia Water.
Anna holds over 15 years experience working in community development (including India, Vietnam, and Indigenous Australia), Government, and business. She has an entrepreneurial spirit having started two of her own businesses, most recently, a sustainable fashion clothing label. The label has been awarded for its focus on promoting fair and sustainable employment for garment workers, and an ethical supply chain. Anna is passionate about harnessing business to empower communities to live more productive, healthy and safe lives. She also believes in community development that is people centered and uses innovation to deliver sustainable solutions to problems… Meaning being part of the Pollinate Energy family is a perfect fit!
